The battlements looked out far across the wide city. Towers and spires and rooftops glistened in the first sunlight of the new year. The morning dew had gathered upon the battlement's stone and the guards stood vigilant, metres a part.
The clock on the West Tower, struck eight chimes, and the streets below had started to liven. Market Venders walked quickly passed beggars and street performers, Bakers and Butchers opened their doors, and yet all the while none looked up at the towers of the castle. [read more]
